The painting is called Midnight in the Water. The scene is obviously a nighttime scene. The colour combination is depicting the mood of the painting. The scene is silent, dark. Somehow a calming scene. the scene could be interpreted as a scene from a children`s fairy tale. A small halo of yellow colour is surrounding a background possibly to break the dark pallet of black and yellow. The artist is somehow connecting the asking one to the giver by connecting the two in the form of circles. A possible explanation in my view can be that the artist is trying to convince the beholder that all we desire is found in ourselves only. It’s only us that can give us the feeling of joy and calm. Nobody else can complete us as we are not incomplete to begin with. All we want from the outer world is found within us only. The painting is giving a lesson of self-worth by depicting a calm and relaxing visual.
